Music is an actual intelligence. In today’s society, parents make a formal education a priority in the development of their children. However, in the Medieval, Renaissance, and other historic times, music and the arts were prioritized higher than education. It was not until the Renaissance period that education became popular among the upper class. For example, Mozart was considered a professional musician by the age of ten. In reality, both education and music are important components in the lives of children and adults. Without music programs in schools, students have less opportunity for creative expression, emotional relief, educational development, and cultural awareness.
Music provides multiple benefits. There are opportunities for physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, listening, and other social norms that encourage development. Students can have musical experiences that promote enrichment in
various areas. These tools can be transferred into the community and more specifically the classroom.
Something’s missing, could music be the answer?
The answer is YES! Let’s change the world, “one note at a time!”
Note by Note promotes musical and leadership skills. Its aim is to affect change “one note at a time.” The mission is to reach communities where a musical disparity exists, bridging the gap between music and essential life skill experiences of youth and adolescents.
